I do not think that models are appreciated enough in the architecture field any longer... But I still build models and I find it a great working tool. My experience is that most people can relate to a model and get an understanding of a space through the model. It can be difficult to achieve the same spatial understanding through an 3D image. Here are some of my (small) models...
